Plantsman's Corner is the solo project of Malcolm Hockham, one half of the formidable "Eggleston Hall Gardens" partnership. Perhaps Plantsman's Corner is best summed up in a quote from a recent radio interview with Malcolm...
"They say gardening is the new Rock & Roll... I doubt that, but like anyone whose ever been in a band, there's a desire to express yourself creatively, develop your own ideas, or in my case, propagate and grow the plants I've most admired in a lifetime of gardening. Simplistic enjoyment of the natural world and in particular the inherent beauty and magic found within the plant kingdom could change the nature of man…. I've yet to meet a genuinely miserable gardener..."
I hope you find something of interest on your visit to this Web site, which is intended not only to catalogue some of our plants but as a resource of information and honest opinion about those plants. This information, gleaned from 40 years experience, is open, personal and freely offered, as are most things in the natural world.
Plantsmans Corner will be opening to the public on the first and third Sundays of the month from April till October 2021 until I am dead or just plain knackered.
