Two Good Plants
26th June, 2008
These two plants from my own garden are superb, on the left is a simple everyday but hugely worthwhile shrub 'Weigela florida variegata' outstandingly floriferous (posh word for lots of flowers) with the added advantage of good clean variegation to the leaves. On the left is a collector's plant 'Cornus alternifolia argentea' a stunning shrub with a ghostly charm and tabulated habit. I adore this shrub both for its structure and other world feel, like an apparition from a secret garden in another dimension its presence permeates the atmosphere, adding depth, interest and textural qualities found in few plants. If all that sound like bollocks I'm sorry, however I do actually believe it.
