Rosa Bonica
20th November, 2008
Perhaps if I had but one rose to choose I would select this variety. Rosa bonica is a cracking rose with silvery pink blooms borne throughout summer and on well into autumn. Seen as a single specimen bush it always arouses interest, simply because of its clean floriferous habit and relative disease resistance. Often used as a landscapers rose for en mass plantings, this situation rarely does justice to its beauty. I am not a rose person; however bonica has found a place at Plantsmans Corner, along with a handful of other varieties for their great presence as much as their individual charm.
