Acer palmatum 'Sagara Nishiki'

Acer palmatum 'Sagara Nishiki' (Japanese Maple)

Common Name

Japanese Maple

Soil

Any non alkaline soil. Correct light more important

Aspect

Shade

Height

6-10ft

Action and Timing

The most beautiful lemon yellow variegation over a light green base colour develops as the leaves unfurl in spring, there is an overshading of pink on the yellow margins also, it makes for a spectacular spring display on a compact shrub to 10ft. It must have shade to protect the foliage from strong sun.

Nursery Notes

Grafted plant.

Opinion

A superb specimen or container subject. The shade thing is essential though or it will burn....no pissing about here, in shade fantastic....in sun shite.
