Acer palmatum 'Senkaki'

Acer palmatum 'Senkaki' (Japanese Maple)

Common Name

Japanese Maple

Soil

Any non alkaline soil. Correct light more important

Aspect

Sun or partial shade

Height

15-20ft

Action and Timing

The outstanding feature must be coral bark throughout winter on the young wood, however, the autumn colour are equally gardenworthy as they lighten even the gloomiest of days with their vibrant yellow and gold tones, quite simply breathtaking, Upright to 20ft in any light and highly recommended, especially by myself.

Nursery Notes

Grafted plant

Opinion

Also known as Sango Kaku this is a fine maple and worthy of a place in any garden.....try planting it alongside or opposite 'Ukon'.....brilliant winter contrast.
