Action and Timing

Large leaved form, semi upright, vigorous, strong growing and excellent for the garden landscape, growing to 18ft. Deeply divided leaves are bright purple in spring, darkening to almost black-red, then from midsummer onwards deep green red leading up to typical autumn crimson; Afternoon shade best.

Grafted plant.
 

Opinion

If you only have limited shade then the afternoon is best for this one,, the cooler morning will help counteract the effects of the sun somewhat....This goes for most shade loving maples where cover is limited.
