Nursery Notes
Propagate by early spring or autumnal division. Seed can work well but is often unreliably true to type.
Opinion
Introduced from Hupeh in China around 1908 and is said to be a parent of the stock that the plant collector Robert Fortune introduced from Japan, so in essence it could be argued that the Japanese Anemone is actually from China.....I would not wish to labour the point of view though. It matters not. I actually prefer the delicacy of the single flowered forms myself, but that is a personal preference.
