Opinion

The original crocosmia was introduced from South Africa in 1846, it has become the mother to numerous garden hybrids, many of which are quite superb, some of which are total shite, all , while hardy do not like wet feet in winter. My old Head Gardener used to lift his every year....actually he got some poor twat like me to do it for him! I no longer lift crocosmia, and if you have a life and half a brain you wont either. James Coey is an old variety from around 1920 and is highly reliable.
