Substantial leaves of chartreuse turning yellow then ivory-cream, irregular margins of dark green streak inwards towards the midrib, the whole thing is delicately cupped, slightly puckered and ripple edged. Flowers are a pinkish lavender from deep purple buds.
Nursery Notes
Propagate by division only. Late to emerge so don't panic or get trouser wind if it's not through the same time as other varieties, it is worth waiting for if you have it in a suitable place.
Opinion
This 'Mother of many' is a classic hosta. Distinguished in its own right it has been used in breeding programmes for years now, it is vigorous, quick to establish and dead easy to grow. Its only downside is its sensitivity to light levels, which if not right will really piss it off and it will sulk. Get it right and you'll be rewarded. I am informed bright partial shade is best....I think I know what that means....as you can see by the image, mines ok so far.
