Hosta 'Stained Glass'

Hosta 'Stained Glass' (Plantain Lily)

Common Name

Plantain Lily

Soil

Moist but not wet

Aspect

Sun or partial shade

Height

15 inches high x 3ft wide

Action and Timing

Matt golden yellow leaves with dark green margin, strongly veined with a slightly undulating edge. Flowers are fragrant and pale lavender.

Nursery Notes

Propagate by division. I have not found ideal conditions for this host yet but I have not actually had time to try much as yet.

Opinion

Having seen stained glass grown perfectly, it is a very garden-worthy hosta and I would like to get its culture right. Young plants in my shade tunnel are looking good though.
